Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />Airport Economic Development Area. (1320 <br />Franklin) <br />(2) Resolution No. 2521 approving and <br />accepting a counter offer for the <br />acquisition of property in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. (1320 <br />Franklin) <br />Mr. Witwer noted that the Grafs have <br />submitted a counter offer of $35,000. Staff <br />recommends accepting the counter offer. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Blake, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2521 <br />approving and accepting a counter offer for <br />the acquisition of property in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. (1320 <br />Franklin) <br />(3) Staff report on Viridian rail spur. <br />Mr. Witwer noted that the Viridian rail spur <br />was installed by the Industrial Foundation in <br />conjunction with Chicago South Shore, with <br />the hope that it would open more industrial <br />land to rail served businesses. This idea <br />never materialized as the tracks have never <br />seen a car north of Lathrop Avenue. Two <br />years ago the Viridian spur was disconnected <br />by the resurfacing of Bendix Drive and <br />Lathrop, and serves no purpose today as a <br />viable rail. <br />The city, in its planning for pedestrian <br />COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 2521 <br />APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A COUNTER OFFER <br />FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY IN THE <br />AIRPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UREA. <br />(1320 FRANxLIN) <br />STAFF REPOR TON VIRIDIAN RAIL SPUR <br />15 <br />
