ZONING & ANNEXATION JUNE 23, 20144:15 P.M. <br />Committee Members Present: Tim Scott, Derek Dieter, Henry Davis, Gavin Ferlic <br />Citizen Members Present: Vacant <br />Other Council Present: Valerie Schey, Dr. Fred Ferlic, Dr. David Varner, Karen White, <br />Oliver Davis <br />Other Present: Erin Blasko, Mel Reed, Kathy Cekanski - Farrand, <br />Brandy Gatorano, Doug Merritt, Christa Ford (APC), <br />Mike Danch, John Voorde <br />Agenda: Bill 27 -14 Zoning -1022 201h Street <br />Bill 28 -14 Zoning & Special Exception -605 N. Hickory Rd. <br />Bill 30 -14 Zoning -1707 South Bend Ave. <br />Bill 14 -59 Zoning -2324 Elwood Ave. <br />With full Committee present as well as all other Councilmembers, Chairman Tim Scott called the hearing <br />to order noting four bills on the agenda. <br />Other present were Erin Blasko, Mel Reed, Brandy Gatorano, and Kathy Cekanski - Farrand. <br />The first bill reviewed, 27 -14 was a request from Kyle D. Bach to rezone property at 1022 201h St. from <br />SF2 and MFl to Urban Corridor Multifamily. This request is part of a larger project to renovate three <br />buildings into student oriented apartments. To facilitate the project the Council, at an earlier meeting <br />approved an alley vacation for parking and safety concerns in the same area. <br />The Area Plan Commission (APC) had previously given this request a unanimous favorable <br />recommendation. This was a sub. bill. <br />Christa Ford from APC staff explained the project answering Councilman Derek Dieter's question about <br />adequate parking. There were no questions from the public. <br />Doug Merritt representing the petitioner was present to answer any questions. <br />Upon a motion by Derek Dieter seconded by Gavin Ferlic the bill was sent to Council with a favorable <br />recommendation. <br />Bill 28 -14, also a substitute bill, was a petition to rezone property at 605 N. Hickory Rd. from CB <br />community business to GB general business along with a request for a variance to allow a mini - <br />warehouse. <br />
