)VED <br />i� <br />L4i............. <br />Rr�Ms'... l <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 80, 81 AND 82 <br />OF CHAPTER 29 OF GENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 3709. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indians.: <br />SECTION I. That Section 80 of Chapter Z91 of General Ordinance No. 3709 <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, <br />For the purpose of this article inter -city trucks as used in this <br />section shall include every self - propelled vehicle used for the trans- <br />port of goods, except those operating upon tracks or carrying passengers <br />for hire, operating by or under a permit or license of the Public Ser-� <br />vice Commission of Indiana or of the United States, described as follows: <br />(a) From a point outside the city through the city to a point°`O <br />e2 <br />outside of the city, or <br />(b) From a point outside the city to a point within the city <br />limits, or <br />(c) From a point within the city limits to a point outside the <br />city limits. <br />SECTION II, That Section 81 of Chapter 29 of General Ordinance No. 3709 be <br />,and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(a) Inter -city trucks as defined in paragraph (a) of the pre- <br />ceding section shall enter the city, pass through the city, and leave <br />the city upon established state or federal highways only and shall <br />not drive upon any other public street of the city at any time; <br />provided, however, that they shall be permitted to drive upon such <br />other public streets of the city, upon the direction of a city or state <br />police officer or to follow a marked and established city detour or <br />to obtain necessary emergency mechanical repairs. <br />(b) Inter -city trucks as defined in paragraph (b) of the preced- <br />ing section shall enter the city and proceed to the point within the <br />city which is their destination in accordance with the shortest comE&C bination of state or federal highways, city truck routes and access routes as shown upon a map ent itled "Schedule A, " which map shabe construed to be as much a part of this section as if it were fully set out herein. At least two copies of this map shall be on file in office of the city clerk for public inspection. Such trucks shall not � be driven upon any other public streets of the city at any time; provided, however, that it shall be permissible to drive such trucks upon such other public streets of the city upon the direction of a ci or state police officer or to follow a marked and established city <br />detour or to obtain necessary emergency mechanical repairs. <br />
