The report summarizes travel and <br />training expenditures for the South Bend Fire Department personnel during this quarterly period. In <br />his letter, Chief Cox stated that training is essential to all aspects of fire service and it is necessary to <br />remain abreast of the most current firefighting technologies and emergency medical services. There <br />being no questions concerning this report, the Quarterly Report for Travel and Training Expenditures <br />was accepted and filed. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT — DECEMBER 2013 <br />Fire Chief Stephen Cox submitted to the Board the monthly report for December 2013 compiled by <br />the Prevention/Inspection Bureau of the Fire Department, Chief Cox stated that beginning January 1, <br />2014, the Fire Department will do a breakdown of investigations of fires, in place of arson statistics. <br />He noted arson tracking is actually a law enforcement duty.
