ORDINANCE NO. ~ Z 3~' -~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING ARTICLE 3 OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED "DEVELOPMENT DESIGN REVIEW" STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT On February 23, 1990, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission declared an area commonly known as the Airport Economic Development Area to be an economic development area, subject to economic development. The Common Council believes it is necessary and desirable to provide for the review of proposed exterior design in the Airport Economic Development Area, and to require compliance with design standards for such work, in order to insure orderly and attractive development of those areas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Chapter 6, Article 3, Section 6-7 (a) is amended to add one (1) additional division, (a) (3), to read as follows: (3) Airport Economic Development Design Area: A part of Sections 17, I8, 19, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33 in Township 38 North, Range 2 East, and Sections 3 and 4, Township 37 Nort/r, Range 2 East, in German and Portage Townships, St. Joseph County, Indiana, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the Nort/Easterly riglrt-of-way line oJLincolnway West and tl:e Easterly riglrt-of-way line of Bendix Drive; t/rence Soutl:, Sout/Easterly and Easterly along said Easterly riglrt-of-way line of Bendix Drive to tl:e intersection of the Northerly riglrt-of-way line of Bendix Drive and Easterly riglrt-of-way line of Goodland Avenue; t/fence Nortl: 0-00'- 00"East (bearing assumed oft/re next twenty courses) along said Easterly right-of-way line of Goodland Avenue, a distance of 362.95 feet; thence Sorrtlr 89-46'- 27" East, a distance of 239.50 feet; t/rence South 0-29'-11 " East, a distance of 176.78 feet; thence Sout/i 89-07'- 43" East, a distance of 227.04 feet to t/:e Westerly riglrt-of-way line of Eclipse Street; thence along anon-tangent curve to the left leaving a radius of 957.29 feet and a central angle of 3-26'- 41 "and limited in length by a chord w/rich bears South 17-02'- 58" East, a distance of 57.54 feet; thence continuing along said West riglrt-of way line of Eclipse Street, a distance of 127.60 feet to the Northerly rig/it-of-way line of Bendix Drive; thence East along said Northerly right-of-way line to the Easterly right-of-way line of
