South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting —January 30, 2014
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
B. Airport Economic Development Area
(1) continued...
that some of the settlement money is already committed. We believe it is unlikely the cost
of this remediation will be greater than the funds we have.
Mr. Inks asked whether any of the permanent wells are to be in Ignition Park proper, and if
so, will they impact development there. Ms. Kolata had not seen a map showing the well
locations. She said they should not impact development. There is a well on the
Underground Pipe & Valve property in Oliver Industrial Park. It is flush - mounted with their
paved area and we have an easement to get on there to test when we need to. If there was a
well placed where it could not be accommodated in development, then we'd just close the
well and get along without it.
Upon a motion by Ms. Schey, seconded by Mr. Inks and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved the Proposal from Hull Associates regarding Environmental
Delineation and Sampling in the area of Ignition Park for the scope of services and fee
proposed.
C.
