PAGE 4A <br />PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT: A tract of land under single <br />ownership or control, which is to be developed as a unit, <br />according to an overall development plan and which complies <br />with the intent and requirements of this ordinance regarding <br />such developments. <br />OFF- STREET PARKING SPACE: A suitably surfaced area provided for <br />the off- street.parking of vehicles. Such "spaces" shall be a <br />useable -'area containing a minimum of two hundred (200) square <br />feet, having least dimensions of approximately nine (9) feet <br />by twenty (20) feet, and shall be adequately surfaced, drained, <br />screened, and landscaped. Aisle, access, or maneuvering space <br />shall not be included in the minimum useable area. <br />USEABLE OPEN SPACE: Those spaces useable for outdoor recreational <br />living and household uses normally carried on out doors; which <br />are not devoted to non - household uses, vehicular use or parking; <br />which are open to the sky; which, if above grade, are structur- <br />ally sound and adequately surfaced and protected; and which <br />are- anragcihla -to- -all occupants of the dwelling unit or units <br />for whom the space is required. <br />SECTION 2. <br />Use District Regulations <br />In order to regulate and restrict the location of trades, <br />k callings, industries, commercial enterprises and the location <br />of buildings designed for specified uses, the City of South <br />' Bend is hereby divided into "Use Districts, ". of which there <br />shall be nine known as: <br />"A" Residence District <br />"A -1" Residence District <br />"A -2" Planned Residential Development District <br />"B" Residence District <br />"C -1" Commercial District <br />11C -2" Planned Shopping Center District <br />"C" Commercial District <br />"D" Light Industrial District <br />"E" Heavy Industrial District <br />
