(5) If occupancy of any curb space is sought for a period <br />longer than four weeks, the application, if approved by the <br />Traffic Engineering Department, must also be submitted to and <br />approved by the Board of Public Works and Safety before meter <br />bags will be issued. <br />(6) If the proposed curb occupancy will require the <br />removal of parking meters or parking meter posts, the cost of <br />removal and re- installation will be estimated in advance and <br />such cost will be collected from the applicant in advance, <br />along with the other fees herein provided for: Provided, how- <br />ever, that if the applicant is a contractor suitably equipped <br />to perform such work and is bonded to the City of South Bend, <br />he may elect to perform the removal and re- installation himself, <br />at no cost to the City. <br />(delete) ( the project is of such a nature that -be <br />necessary for the con to vered pedestrian <br />walkway in th reet, the to ra raph four (4) <br />is ordinance relative to fees for curb occupancy ska.1.L <br />not apply. <br />(7)f8o� Where such permits for curb occupancy are granted, <br />as herein provided, the space shall be occupied only by vehicles <br />or other equipment necessary to the construction, repair, or <br />other work or activity being performed or carried on by the <br />applicant, and the space shall not be used for ordinary parking <br />of passenger cars or other vehicles. Any violations of this <br />rule shall result in revocation of the permit and forfeiture <br />of all fees paid. <br />(8) +4 Expired meter bags shall be removed at or prior to <br />the time of their expiration.
