• projected utilization of Phase I facility at or near capacity within one year of opening.
• number of graduating companies emerging from the park into Michiana.
• new contracted agreements for future facilities.
• the projected sustainability track of IP @ND through identified and/or committed funding
sources.
• the quantity and quality of publicity and recognition received from authoritative entities
for the IP @ND's service in pursuing useful applications of research.
The IP @ND will be a park designed and managed by experienced entrepreneurs for the
benefit of new entrepreneurs. Unlike other university -based research parks, most full -time
employees of the IP @ND should have prior entrepreneurial experience, enabling them to more
readily understand and respond to the anticipated tenant needs. Other skill sets may well include
those with former faculty experience to help guide the process through channels. Wherever
possible, the IP @ND will seek to utilize current undergraduate students and graduates to handle
routine duties, allowing the more experienced full -time staff to focus on recruiting and
counseling new tenants and clients in their efforts to advance their particular ventures. The
staffing of the Innovation Park at Notre Dame will reflect the anticipated services to be provided
to tenants and clients.
Initial full -time staffing of the IP @ND is expected to include:
• President / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) presently the Director.
• Engagement Director(s) — Client Services to help recruit tenants, clients and projects to
the park and provide ongoing counsel to tenants as their venture progresses.
• Engagement Director — Private Sector to interface with third party business and domain
thought leaders and equity capital sources (angels, VC, PEG).
