• Space for cross - disciplinary University research activities, either solus or in combination <br />with other universities and colleges, such as IUSB's proposed cancer center or cadaver <br />labs, potentially leading to new start-up ventures. <br />• Space for expanded University research activities, particularly activities close to <br />translation, as "surge" space until new facilities become available on campus. <br />• Offices for operation of separately- funded enterprises or programs that support start-up or <br />emerging growth companies (e.g., angel investment groups, private equity, venture <br />capital, etc.). <br />• Companies /organizations that provide business or technical support services for the <br />research offices or start-up companies in the park (e.g., procurement, engineering <br />support, etc.). <br />• Technology transfer related offices or special collaborative laboratories of Notre Dame <br />The Innovation Park at Notre Dame and its staff members will host, support, sponsor, <br />initiate or operate a number of separately- funded programs that support the accomplishment of <br />the mission of the IP @ND. We anticipate that the focus of these programs will fall into the <br />following categories: <br />• Recruitment of suitable tenants to IP @ND space and clients interested in engaging <br />University research, faculty and/or graduate students for technology platform <br />development. <br />• Fast -track assistance to identify and engage available University assets, intellectual <br />property and faculty or students on a market -fee basis. <br />Page 10 of 23 <br />
