• Access to a broad and deep network of professional experts with established
credentials in a number of emerging and established business domains.
• Reasonable access to start-up and seed capital on both the local and national level,
and later -stage capital for more established emerging growth ventures.
Effective and efficient provision of these services reflects the critical success factors of
the IP @ND. It is imperative that the IP @ND facilities and resources, including the website and
access to the St. Joe Valley Metronet, a state -of -the -art, vendor - neutral telecommunications
infrastructure consisting of a 40 -mile network of fiber -optic cable providing a high -speed data
network with virtually unlimited bandwidth, are conceived and executed to enable technology
platform development and the exploration of commercial applications from within the park.
We anticipate several different classes of tenants /clients in the IP @ND facilities:
• Start-up companies based on the intellectual property or technology platforms emerging
from existing or new research, led by faculty, graduate students, alumni, staff and parents
(defined as possessing Notre Dame DNA).
• Start-up companies recruited from other parts of the US or from other countries, with the
expressed intention to leverage the University of Notre Dame research/technology
platforms, intellectual property, faculty and students and other assets.
• Liaison offices and/or collaborative laboratory space for separately - funded larger
commercial enterprises that have, or wish to have, an ongoing research relationship with
the University of Notre Dame (e.g., Boeing or Zimmer).
• Space for conceptual exploration, development and demonstrated proof of concept of
innovative entrepreneurial initiatives ( "greenhouse ") emerging from one or more
technology platforms.
