<br /> <br />SBBPC <br />OUTH END OARD OF ARK OMMISSIONERS <br />RM <br />EGULAR EETING <br />J16,2008 <br />UNE <br /> <br />The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br />Monday the of at the O’Brien Administration & Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter St., South <br />Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date, time and place of the meeting were duly <br />given as required by law. <br /> <br />Park Board members present were as follows: <br />Mr. Robert Goodrich, Vice President <br />Dr. Thomas Kelly <br />Mr. Garrett Mullins <br /> <br />Park Board members absent were as follows: <br />Mr. Robert Henry, President <br /> <br />Staff members present: Phil St. Clair, Superintendent; Betsy Harriman, Administrative Director; <br />Bill Carleton, Fiscal Officer; Susan O’Connor, Recreation Director; Randy Nowacki, Director of <br />Golf Operations; Terry DeRosa, Zoo Director; Richard Payton, Development Director; Mike <br />Dyszkiewicz, Maintenance Superintendent; Phil Custard, Director of Purchasing; Thomas Bodnar, <br />Park Board Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />I.The meeting was called to order by Board Vice President Robert Goodrich at 4:07 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />II.The first order of business was the interviewing of interested citizens. <br /> <br /> <br />1.Report by South Bend Baseball Club, LLC- <br />Mr. Terry Coleman of the South Bend Silver Hawks reported that the first half of the <br />season just finished and the team is now 33-36 after a slow start. <br />Attendance is slightly ahead of last season, and there are more games in July this year than <br />last year with many fireworks nights. <br />The San Diego Chicken is coming in July and August. <br />Pops at the Cove will be held again this year. <br />HOK, the architectural firm that designed the stadium, has been engaged to assess the <br />stadium as part of a larger plan develop the area around the stadium. <br /> <br />2.Botanical Society- Ms. Martha Lewis <br /> <br />a.Ms. Lewis reported that the MOU was signed last month and liability insurance <br />has been obtained. <br /> <br />b.The Botanical Society and Zoo Staff have been meeting every other week to <br />discuss the greenhouse.
