may be set by the Board of Safety prior to the first pay period <br />of 1976 and shall include night incentive, educational incentive <br />and hazard pay. This section shall not apply to those officers <br />in the lowest three ranks as of December 31, 1975. This <br />section is meant to insure a reward to individual officers for <br />longevity and experience on the police force. <br />SECTION 4. In addition to the foregoing annual pay, <br />the officers —and members of the Police Department shall receive <br />compensation for extra duty and special performance as follows: <br />(a) For time spent in court appearances and overtime <br />work as determined by the Chief of Police, $5.00 per hour. A <br />police officer requested to work overtime by the Police Chief <br />or his designee is automatically paid the $5.00 per hour. <br />(b) For personnel required to work on legal holidays, <br />$32.00 per holiday worked; this shall apply to the following <br />holidays and no others: <br />New Year's Day Fourth of July <br />Lincoln's Birthday Labor Day <br />Washington's Birthday Columbus Day <br />Good Friday Veteran's Day <br />Easter Sunday Thanksgiving <br />Memorial Day Christmas <br />(c) For night incentive and hazard pay, $300.00 per <br />year. <br />SECTION 5. The Common Council recommends that the <br />contribution to dependent hospitalization be increased by $84.00 <br />per year. <br />SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in force and <br />effect for the ca endar year commencing January 1, 1976, and <br />ending December 31, 1976. <br />Passed July 28, 1975, as amended. <br />-2- <br />
