Public Works <br />Members of the Common Council <br />441 County /City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Gentlemen: <br />Reply To: Department <br />of Public Works <br />November 5, 1975 <br />An ordinance is being filed to cover the expense of renovating a build- <br />ing on the Plaza that will serve as office space for the River Bend <br />Plaza Office and the Century Center Office. <br />The River Bend Plaza Office is currently housed in a building owned <br />by the Department of Redevelopment. This building is scheduled for <br />demolition. Problems with the wiring in this building dictate an <br />expenditure to repair the system if the Plaza Office remains in that <br />location. The heating, ventilating, and air - conditioning system also <br />is in need of repair. No money has been budgeted for utilities for <br />this location. It is recommended that no additional money be spent at <br />this location. <br />You may also remember that no money was budgeted for rent in the Century <br />Center operating budget. <br />It is the intent to seek a three -year lease for a building on the Plaza. <br />Anticipated expenses for the first year are as follows: <br />Rent at $300 /month maximum $ 3,600.00 <br />Utilities 2,000.00 <br />Renovation 9,400.00 <br />TOTAL COST, FIRST YEAR $15,000.00 <br />
