Transferring $20,652 Department of Safety Budget Salaries & Wages within the Mayors Budget

ORDINANCE NO. 5946 -76 AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $20,652 FROM ACCOUNT #110.0 WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY BUDGET TO ACCOUNT #110.0 "SALARIES & WAGES ", WITHIN THE MAYOR'S BUDGET, ALL ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND, OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing budget for the Office of Mayor, in the General Fund, so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the original budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary conditions; and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for various accounts within the Mayor's budget, in the General Fund budget to assure that department's ability to properly perform its functions; and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in various accounts of the Dept. of Safety, in the General Fund, which are not presently needed: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I. That the sum of $20,652.00 be transferred be- tween various accounts as set forth below: SECTION III. Each member of the Board of Safety shall be compensated at the rate of $1,200.00, as provided by law. SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and a ter its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor. Passed January 19, 1976, as amended.
