The budget, as approved, and expenditures, in accord- <br />ance with that budget, verify this conclusion. <br />It is the recommendation of this Department that rates be adjusted from <br />$1.50 to $3 for Senior Citizens and from $3 to $4.50 for regular customers. <br />Based on the present 10,549 customers, the budget picture for the next <br />three years, assuming a 6 per cent inflation rate, becomes: <br />YEAR <br />INCOME <br />EXPENDITURES <br />1976 <br />$ 443,077 <br />$ 447,088 <br />1977 <br />512,946 <br />461,100 <br />1978 <br />512,946 <br />488,766 <br />1979 <br />512,946 <br />518,091 <br />TOTALS $1,981,915 $1,915,045 <br />The 1976 income includes a $55,654 balance at the end of calendar year <br />1975. <br />All income projections are based on a constant number of Senior Citizen <br />customers of approximately 4,500. Income data for 1976 is based on the <br />recommended rate increase becoming effective July 1, 1976, and being in <br />effect for the remaining six months of the year. <br />
