Column 1
This column lists the various chemical costs as budgeted for 1976.
Column 2
This column lists the various chemical costs as estimated in 1971 by
the Plant design engineers.
Column 3
This column lists the various chemical costs as requested for the 1977
budget. This is based upon our ability to successfully make the transition
from the lime method to the ferric chloride.
Column 4
This column lists the various chemical costs which would result if the Plant
were to be operated, as designed using the lime method, at the present
inflated costs. We would like to point out that our first shipment of lime
received in January of 1975 was priced at $21.40 per ton with cartage at 7.48 or
or $28.88 delivered. On May 15, 1976 the price will advance to $34.30 per
ton with cartage at 7.85 or $42.15 delivered. This represents a 46% increase.
(1) 1976
(2) Bond
(3) 1977
(4) 1977
Budget
Figures
Budget
Figures
Request
As Designed
Lime
170,300
440,000
-
677,000
Sulphuric
44,000
44,000
-
235,000
Ferric
162,000
58,000
108,000
30,400
Chloride
Alum
-
-
-
-
Polymer
100,000
144,000
90,000
87,600
Chlorine
63,000
66,000
44,000
31,900
TOTAL
539,300
752,000
242; 000
1,061,900
Column 1
This column lists the various chemical costs as budgeted for 1976.
Column 2
This column lists the various chemical costs as estimated in 1971 by
the Plant design engineers.
Column 3
This column lists the various chemical costs as requested for the 1977
budget.
