Under the supervision of a Bureau of Streets Foreman, six (6) CETA people will be added to provide manpower for this clean -up response. It is proposed to assign a mower to each approximate one -half of the City. A two -man crew will be assigned to clean -up activities with primary responsibility for cleaning trash and debris from lots before mowing. It is not intended that this program will reduce the effort of the Bureau of Solid Waste in environmental clean -up. As a part of this program, the Mayor has directed that an increased effort be made to enforce the City Ordinance regarding trash and refuse, and that violators be prosecuted. The efforts of all City Departments in environmental clean -up and maintenance have been reviewed and are being coordinated to pro- vide increased service in this area.
