CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
DEPARTMENT OF
CITY & BOWMAN CEMETERIES
4PMN"xMX)gj0RdC
214 ELM STREET
PHONE 284 -9458
March 21, 1977
Mr. Roger Parent, President
South Bend Common Council
County City Building
227 West Jefferson Boulevard
South Bend,, Indiana 46.601
Dear Mr. Parent:
The Bureau of Cemeteries respectfully requests the Common Council
to approve the enclosed ordinance for transfer of funds in the
General Fund.
The Bureau is requesting that $6,945.21 be transferred to Account
#0722, Motor Equipment.
The Bureau is in desperate need of a new dump truck to replace the
present 1965 12 ton truck. During the past six months this vehicle
has been in the garage constantly for repairs. Presently, the truck
needs a new clutch; replacement of a throw out bearing and repair of
the hydraulic system. The body is rusted out, tires are badly worn
and the vehicle won't pass state inspection. The truck is not in
running condition. The purchase of a new truck was not included in
the 1977 budget.
We are transferring the $6,945.21 from Account #0110, Salaries &
Wages Regular. There is a balance in Account #0110, due to elimi-
nation of the sexton's salary.
I feel that this transfer is needed for the efficient operation of
the Bureau of Cemeteries.
Very truly yours,
BUREAU OF CEMETERIES
Robert C. Niezgodski
Fiscal Officer
RCN /fb
