Receipt of Bids <br />(1) continued... <br />Mr. Varner asked if there is any interest in this property. Mr. Relos responded that there is. <br />B. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) Filing of Resolution No. 3174 amending the Development Plan of the South Bend <br />Central Development Area and setting a public hearing on Resolution No. 3174 for <br />9:30 a.m., September 26, 2013. <br />Mr. Dressel noted that staff is requesting approval to advertise a public hearing on <br />September 26 to amend the South Bend Central Development Area (SBCDA) Plan via a <br />confirming resolution. <br />The request follows the Redevelopment Commission's approval of a Declaratory Resolution <br />on August 15, 2013; the amendment has received approval by the Area Plan Commission of <br />St. Joseph County on August 20, 2013 and the South Bend Common Council on <br />September 9, 2013. <br />As a reminder, the primary purpose of these text amendments is to emphasize the <br />importance of adding and expanding the range of downtown housing unit types within the <br />SBCDA, particularly those that encourage the provision of affordable housing and live -work <br />space for artists. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Schey, seconded by Mr. Inks and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission accepted for filing Resolution No. 3174 amending the Development Plan of the <br />South Bend Central Development Area and setting a public hearing on Resolution No. 3174 <br />for 9:30 a.m., September 26, 2103. <br />(2) Filing of Resolution No. 3157 appropriating monies for the purpose of defraying the <br />expenses of certain local public improvements for the fiscal year beginning January 1, <br />2014 and ending December 31, 2014, including all outstanding claims and obligations, <br />fixing a time when the same shall take effect and setting a public hearing for 9:30 a.m., <br />October 10, 2013. (Redevelopment Retail) <br />Ms. Leonard -Inks noted that Resolution No. 3157 is the first of four resolutions that will be <br />before the Redevelopment Commission today which set the public hearings for the <br />appropriations for the 2014 budget. All we are asking for today is approval to send the <br />Notices of Hearing to the Tribune and Tri -County News. <br />Ms. Schey asked whether there will be a public hearing for each aspect of the <br />Redevelopment budget.
