Also, in the area of equipment modification we need out- side assistance. Our equipment is getting older and re- quiring more and more major repairs. 260 Other Contractual Services 12,800.00 (1977 - $12,000.00) Through the funding of this account we are able to accomplish tasks that we might otherwise be too limited to handle. During construction season the ability to lease replacement or speicalty equipment can mean the difference between completing a job in a successful manner on time, or not doing so. Also during construction projects there are areas of work which we are better off subcontracting to specialists, i.e., concrete work, landscaping. This account also gives us the ability to work specialized equip- ment at the Sludge Farm which we feel is not cost productive as a purchase. (Six percent (6%) inflation increase). 312 Fuel Oil 4,000.00 (1977 - $3,000.00) Through this account we purchase the necessary diesel fuel to run our diesel equipment - two diesel tractors; one diesel backhoe; two diesel loaders; one Detroit Diesel dewatering pump and an International diesel truck that is being added to the fleet. 321 Gasoline 35,000.00 (1977 - $27,000.00) Provide operating fuel for all motorized equipment in the Bureaus of Sanitation and Wastewater - 31 trucks, 5 auto- mobiles and 20 other gasoline powered pieces of equipment.
