Members of the Common Council <br />Page Two <br />August 3, 1977 <br />A review of the work already performed on the Street Department fleet, <br />coupled with the proposed vehicle replacement schedule, allows us to <br />estimate that approximately $20,000, as distributed on the attached <br />ordinance, will be required to offset the cost of the above described <br />repairs, and provide an adequate level of service to the fleet through <br />the end of this year. <br />Surplus funds have become available in the Temporary Salary and Wages <br />Account of the MVH Fund through the first six months of 1977. The <br />Street Department has experienced a rather large change over in personnel <br />during this period; idle payroll funds,resulting from an accumulation of <br />those periods that certain positions remained vacant, have accumulated to <br />an amount sufficient to address this transfer. <br />Should you have any question in regard to this request, or should you re- <br />quire additional documentation, please contact me at your earliest con- <br />venience.
