Franklin Street, Portage Township. Zoned "LI ".
MR. MARK GENDEL: My address is 1333 Erskine Manor Hill, South Bend, Indiana. I am a member of
GMB2B, LLC. We're seeking a Special Exception on this location for a crematory to be installed in ari
existing building. The crematory will not be open to the public and it would be used for funeral home use
only.
MR. URBANSKI: Thank you sir. I do find the information you attached very interesting. Informative and
interesting.
MR. PHIPPS: The building that you would be using is at the back of the property?
MR. GENDEL: That is correct.
MR. PHIPPS: The staff has given us a photo and I'm assuming this is the part of the building that would be
used not the one up close to Franklin Street? (Mr. Phipps was pointing to a picture)
MR. HAWLEY: I did visit the site and my personal opinion was that there was plenty of parking and it was
very private. In fact across the street basically was commercial property and it just seem like, tome, an ideal
location.
MR. LYONS: We did get with the owners of the property and verified the parking calculations with the
entire property and not just this use because the property does have some other uses on the rest of the
property. So we did go through and coLnted up the total square footage and the number of spaces and they
do meet the requirements.
IN FAVOR
There was no one present to speak in favor of this petition.
