<br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE:
<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
<br />JUNE 27th, 1956
<br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred An Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, appropriating
<br />the sum of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) to be applied to the cost of construction, re- construction and im-
<br />provement of streets , and expenses incurred in connection therewith, respectfully report that they have examined
<br />the matter and that in their opinion, it should be reported favorable, as amended.

<br />(TYPEWRITER $200.00); FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT, Q -11, SERVICE - PERSONAL, $10,300.00:
<br />TO FIRE DEPARTMENT, Q -724, MOTOR EQUIPMENT, $5300.00 (Two Passenger cars and
<br />one truck); TO FIRE DEPARTMENT, Q -726, OTHER EQUIPMENT, $3,000.00 (fire hose);
<br />TO FIRE DEPARTMENT, Q -331, GASOLINE, $2000.00, ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CIVIL
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR 1956 AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.
<br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays.

<br />INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) TWO AND ONE HALF TON TRUCK (22)
<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full:. Motion by Councilman Hahn for suspension
<br />of rules. Motion seconded by Councilman Christman. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. The
<br />Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Carr made a motion to adjourn, which motion was
<br />seconded by Councilman Kroll. Motion carried and the Special Meeting adjourned at 8:49 P.M. C.D.S.T. (7 :49 P.M.(C.S.T.)
