REGULAR MEETING <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />NOVEMBER 28TH, 1955 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance transferring and appropriating certain funds in <br />the General Fund, Street and Traffic Fund, Firemen's Pension Fund and City Plan Fund, all of the budget for the <br />Civil City of South Bend, Indiana for 1955 and declaring an extraordinary emergency ". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance be reported to <br />the Council as favorable. <br />WILLIAM A. HAHN, Chairman <br />Councilman Korpal moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4068 <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING <br />CERTAIN FUNDS IN THE GENERAL FUND, STREET AND <br />TRAFFIC FUND, FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND AND CITY <br />PLAN FUND, ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CIVIL CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR 1955 AND DECLARING AN <br />EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Councilman <br />Pinter) .-. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4069 <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE INSPECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF SUB- STANDARD BUILDINGS AND DWELLINGS OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND TO REMOVE OR DEMOLISH A CERTAIN DWELLING KNOWN <br />AS NO. 229 -231 SOUTH CHAPIN STREET IN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn moved that the <br />ordinance be set for public hearing on December 12th. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. <br />Councilman.Hahn withdraws his motion, and Councilman Korpal withdraws his second to the motion. <br />Councilman Muszynski moved for suspension of rules. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent `Councilman Pinter). <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Councilman <br />Pinter). <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2243 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE <br />BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND MORE <br />PARTICULARLY REPEALING SECTION 37-a AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO, <br />" KNOWN AS THE SECTION ESTABLISHING FEES FOR BUILDING PERMITS, <br />AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION 37 -a ON THE SAME <br />SUBJECT, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT. <br />Councilman Korpal moved that the Ordinance Committee report at the next meeting on December 12th. Councilman <br />Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS <br />TO BE MADE TO SALARIED CITY EMPLOYEES. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, is approaching the close of its fiscal year, and <br />WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous <br />and complicated accounts; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified when possible; now, <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana; <br />SECTION 1. That all salaried officers and employees of the City shall be paid their salaries for month of <br />D b 1955 on the 20th day of said month. <br />ecem <br />SECTION 2. The Controller of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to make said salary payments upon <br />said date. <br />SECTION 3.
