SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 21ST, 1955 A Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council Chamber, Monday, February 21st, 1955, at 8:20 P.M., with the following members present: Councilmen William A. Hahn, Cloyd Bestle, Chester Muszynski, Walter C. Erler, Sr., Clem Niezgodski and Stanley C. Korpal. The following members were absent: Michael R. Pinter and Walter G. Glass. President Walter C. Erler presided. CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: We, the undersigned members of the Common Council, hereby call a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, to convene at the Council Chamber at the City Hall at 8:00 P.M. on the 21st day of February, 1955, for the purpose of: 1. Adopting a Resolution for a Referendum on Time and, 2. Adopting a Resolution on the death of Eli F. Seebirt. (Signed) WILLIAM A. HAHN STANLEY C. KORPAL CHESTER MUSZYNSKI CLEM NIEZGODSKI WALTER C. ERLER, SR. CLOYD BESTLE MICHAEL R. PINTER :WALTER G. GLASS Dated this 21st day of February, 1955. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the call be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. The following Resolution was introduced: R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS: God in his infinite wisdom has called from this life ex- Mayor, Eli F. Seebirt of the City of South Bend on February 11, 1955, and WHEREAS: His untimely death has brought much grief and sorrow to his wife, two daughters and many friends, and WHEREAS; This community has been deprived of an able, intelligent and gifted man,.who has contributed much to the welfare of South Bend, ;rNOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED: That we, the Common Council of the City of South Bend do hereby extend to the family and many friends of Eli F. Seebirt our sincere sympathy in this hour of sorrow, AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a page in the Council Records of the City of South Bend be set aside and this resolution be copied therein and that a copy::,duly certified by the Mayor be sent to the bereaved.
