SPECIAL MEETING <br />The following Resolution was introduced :. <br />R E S O L U T I O N <br />FEBRUARY 21ST, 1955 <br />WHEREAS: There has been confusion over many years as to the desires of the citizens of South Bend regarding <br />Central Standard or Eastern Standard Time, and <br />WHEREAS; It is the desire of the Common Council of the City of South Bend to be guided by the wishes of a <br />majority of the Citizens of South Bend, <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council go on record as favoring a city referendum on the question of <br />Central Standard Time versus,Eastern Standard Time the year round, or a comhination of Central Standard <br />Time and Central Daylight Savings Time. The referendum to be held in connection with the primary <br />election on May 3, 1955, and that the desires of the City Council be conveyed to the Election Board <br />with the hope that arrangements can be made to hold this referendum. <br />ADOPTED AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE Common Council, called for that purpose, on February 21, 1955. <br />CLOYD BESTLE WALTER C. PINTER <br />Councilman Muszynski moved that the Resolution be adopted, and that the Clerk file a duly certified copy with <br />with'thc Election Board. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />The business specified in the Special Call having been disposed of, the Special Session adjourned at 9:05 P.M. <br />on motion by Councilman Muszynski, seconded by Councilman Hahn.
