Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4022 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />(Northwest corner of Kaley St. and Lincolnway West) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Bestle made a motion for <br />suspension of, rules. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. The presiding officer asked if there were any <br />remarks or anyone in the audience who cared to be heard on this ordinance before the Council votes on this ordinance. <br />There being no objections, motion was carried'by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Councilman Glass). <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Councilman <br />Glass)._,-, <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING ALL MATTERS CONCERNING OR PERTAINING <br />TO THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, REPAIRS AND ADDITIONS TO <br />REMODELING, USE AND OCCUPANCY OF BUILDINGS OR THEIR PARTS AND <br />STRUCTURES OF EVERY NATURE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF THE BUILDING RULES AND REGULATIONS <br />OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING COUNCIL OF THE STATE OF INDIANA, <br />PROVIDING FOR THE CONDEMNATION AND THE STOPPAGE OF THE USE OF <br />INADEQUATE AND UNSAFE BUILDINGS, AND WRECKING OF THE SAME, <br />CREATING A BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND PROVIDING OFFICERS AND <br />ASSISTANTS, AND SPECIFYING THEIR DUTIES FOR THE ENFORCEMENT <br />OF THIS ORDINANCE: CREATING A BOARD OF REVIEW, REPEALING ALL <br />FORMER ORDINANCES CONFLICTING HEREWITH AND PROVIDING PENALTIES <br />FOR VIOLATIONS. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title only. Councilman Korpal made a motion that the ordinance be <br />held in the Councillor further study. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PRESENCE OF MINORS UNDER THE <br />AGE OF SIXTEEN YEARS IN PUBLIC STREETS AND OTHER PUBLIC <br />PLACES BETWEEN CERTAIN HOURS; DEFINING DUTIES OF PARENTS <br />AND OTHERS IN RELATIONSHIP THERETO; PROVIDING FOR ARREST <br />AND PENALTIES AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion <br />that the ordinance be referred to the Council for further study. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />ucenr rrrrnM <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS TO BE <br />MADE TO SALARIED CITY EMPLOYEES. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, is approaching the close of its fiscal year, and <br />WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous and <br />complicated accounts; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified when possible; now, <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana; <br />SECTION 1. That all salaried officers and employees of the City shall be paid their salaries for month of <br />December, 1954, on the 20th day of said month. <br />SECTION 2. The Controller of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to make said salary payments upon said <br />date. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />WALTER C.
