REGULAR MEETING <br />PETITION <br />AUGUST 9th, 1954 <br />Petition to rezone lots 24 and 25 of Belleville First unit, which lots are located facing on Falcon Street <br />and extending East and West immediately South of the first alley South of Western Avenue in the City of <br />South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. from "B" Residence and Height and Area to "C" Commercial and <br />Height and Area District. <br />(signed) Joseph G. Councilman <br />Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance of: the 'City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />Appropriating the Sum of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) to be Applied on the Cost of Construction, <br />Reconstruction and Improvement of Streets, and Expenses Incurred in Connection Therewith, respectfully <br />report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion, Section 1, page 2 of the ordinance <br />following the phrase, "Reconstruction and Improvement of streets" be amended by adding: "The Program to <br />include these .minimums: <br />1. The resurfacing and improvement of Olive Street from Lincolnway West to <br />Sample Street. <br />2. The resurfacing ofMiami Street from Ridgedale to Ireland Road. <br />3. The resurfacing of Jefferson Street from 26th to Logan 'Street. <br />4. The resurfacing of portions ofPortage Avenue. <br />" 5. The resurfacing of portions of Mishawaka Avenue. <br />6. The resurfacing and improvement of Eddy Street. <br />7. The resurfacing of Sample Street from Grant Street to Olive Street. <br />8. The engineering estimates on the widening and resurfacint of La Porte Avenue. <br />and that the ordinance go to the Council favorably as amended. <br />W.A. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3992, AS AMENDED. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE MILLION DOLLARS <br />($1,000;000.00) TO BE APPLIED ON THE COST OF <br />CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF <br />STREETS, AND EXPENSES INCURRED IN CONNECTION <br />THEREWITH. <br />Councilman Muszynpki made a motion to accept the amendment to the ordinance. Councilman. Hahn seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes and b nays. <br />The ordinance, as amended, was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />1, <br />Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of H.F. Taylor, et al., to rezone lots 36 and 37 of Bartlett's 2nd Addition <br />from "C" Height and area to "F" Height and area was given legal advertising under date of July 26th and <br />public hearing by the Planning Commission under date of August 5, 1954. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3998 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 3702 OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />This ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion <br />of suspension of the rules. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of <br />8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
