REGULAR ?MEETING <br />JULY 26TH, 1954 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in regular session in the Council Chamber, <br />Monday, July 26th, 1954, at 8:05 P.M., with all members present. President Erler presided. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have <br />inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. -They therefore recommend <br />that the same be approved. <br />WALTER C. Motion <br />car rie d. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />Communication from the League of Women Voters of South Bend that some one office be equipped and delegated to <br />duplicate, mimeograph or print in an economical way such letters, ordinances and other documents as are necessary <br />for the information of the civil city and interested groups and people. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the communication be accepted* Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />Communication from South Bend Civic Planning. Association, Inc. regarding $1,000,000.00 bond issue. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />Communication from residents of Lagoon Court and Joyce Drive relative to parking in that vicinity. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the communication be referred to the Board of Public Works. Councilman <br />Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />Petition of Harold E. Grise to rezone Lot No. 16 in Samuel L. Cottrell's Third Addition from "C" Commercial to <br />"B" Residential and "B" Height and rea. District. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission, Councilman Glass <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION �. <br />Petition of Jerry Claeys Jr. to rezone Lot No. 57 as shown on the Recorded Plat of Jefferson Heights Addition <br />from "A" Residential to "B" Residential. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Muszynski <br />seconded the - 'motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />Petition of the South Bend Columbus Club, Inc. to rezone Lot Nos. 36 and 37 as shown on the Recorded Plat of <br />J. G. Bartlett's Second Addition to "F" Height and Area District. <br />Councilman. Korpal made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Niezgodski <br />seconded the motion. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE N0. 3993 <br />ORDINANCE ANNEXING LANDS TO AND DECLARING SAME <br />TO BE A PART OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />(Northern Indiana Crippled Children's Hospital) <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE N0. 3994 (AS AMENDED) <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING DEALERS IN SCRAP OR JUNK <br />MATERIALS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING AND <br />REGULATION THEREOF; PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS AND <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the ordinance be amended by adding the following to Article III, Section <br />1, paragraph (g) : "in such reasonable manner as to create the least possible detriment and annoyance to occupants <br />of adjoini;zg properties." Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. -Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - <br />0 nays. <br />The ordinance was given thud reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays. <br />
