9'73 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 10TH, 1954 <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable. <br />W. A. HAHN, Chairman <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion* Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE CITY CONTROLLER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR ELIDING DECEMBER 31ST, 1953. <br />As the councilmen have copies of the Controller's Report, there being no- objections, the report was accepted <br />and placed on file. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of Homer and Maxine Fitterling to rezone Lots No. 1 through 287 in Sunset Park Addition from E Indus- <br />trial and F.hei ght and area to A Residence was given legal notice under date of April 26, 1954, and public <br />hearing before your City Planning Commission under date of May 6, 1954. These lots are located north of <br />Calvert Street between Dundee and Industrial Streets. <br />This petition is recommended unfavorably for the following reasons: <br />1. Subject property is in close proximity to railroad trackage. <br />2. Subject property would be surrounded by industrially zoned districts. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Robrert L. Huff, Secretary <br />Councilman korpal made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. <br />11otion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />Common Council <br />City of South "Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of Downey- Hodson Realty Co., Inc. to rezone Lot No. 81 in Walnut Second Addition from B Residence and <br />A height and area to C -1 Commercial. and D height and area districts was given legal notice under date of <br />April 26, 1954, and public hearing before your City Planning Commission under date of May 6, 1954. This real <br />estate is located on the southeast corner of Indiana Avenue and Nash Street. <br />This petition is, recommended unfavorably for the reason that the granting of petition constitutes spot zoning. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Robert L. Huff, Secretary - <br />Councilman Bestle made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Han seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried.. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of John Campbell et al to rezone 98 feet of the east end of Lot No. 6 of Hibberd Place Addition from <br />B Residence and A height and area to C Commercial and F height and area districts was given legal notice <br />under date of April 26, 1954, and public hearing before your City Planning Commission under date of May 6, 1954. <br />This lot is on east side of Oakland Street immediately south of first east west alley south of Mishawaka. <br />Avenue. <br />This petition is recommended unfavorably for the reason that the granting of this petition vumuld allow an <br />unwarranted intrusion into a residential district. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Robert L.
