t MEETING <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMEN-DING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, ADOPTED <br />JUNE 13, 19498, AND COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND. <br />(76 Acre tract lying North of Lincolnway West <br />and West of Bendix Drive) <br />SEPTEMBER 28TH, 1953 <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion <br />that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on October 26th. Councilman <br />Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3940 <br />AN OIWINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE-NO, 3702 COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br />(Lots at the Northeast comer of North Side <br />Blvd. and Roberts Street) <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE N0. 3941 <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM P -11 POLICE SALARY $800.00 TO <br />P -724 MOTOR EQUIPMENT $800.00; FROM S -11 STREET DEPARTMENT SALARY <br />$220090010 S -12 HOURLY WORKERS $2200.00; FROM J -12 SEWER DEPART <br />SALARY $6000.00 TO J -13 SERVE "DE WMENT77OVERTIME "'$ "'#000;00 MY S -13 <br />; 'x-724 SE1Ex 'DEPARTMENT <br />" STRERT7DEFARTMENT OVERTIME WOO 00; FRS <br />MOTOR EQUIPMENT $2300.00 TO S -214 STREET DEPARTMENT TELEPHONE $300.00 <br />AND 5 -321 STREET MEEPARTMENT COAL AND FUEL OIL $2000.00; ALL OF THE <br />BUDGET FOR 1953 OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed'by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS . <br />City Water Shpt, Edwin. Turnook appeared before the Council and stated that the Department is about to award <br />contracts for drilling two new wells, one at the Oliver Station in the Southwest and one in at the Coquillard <br />station is the Northeast. He also stated that a reservoir in the southwdst section might ultimately be <br />necessary. <br />Councilman. Korpal made a motion that A" s vial committee be appointed to work in conjunction with the City <br />Water Supto to study the water situation in the vicinity of the 700 block of W. Ewing Avenue. Councilman <br />Niezgodsld seconded the motion. Motion carried. President Erler named Councilmen Hahn., Alford and Niezgodski <br />to serve on the committee. <br />Mr. William Shea, real estate officer of the Chicago regional office of the Federal Public Housing Administrati <br />told the Council that it would soon be asked to waive several building code and zoning ordinance violations in <br />order that the project units may be offered for sale to occupants. <br />There being no other business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Alford.
