REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 22ND, 1953 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, met in regular session in the Council Chamber, <br />Monday, June 22nd, 1953, at 8:14 P.M., with all members present except Councilmen Pinter and Muszynski. President <br />Erler presided* <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend; <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have <br />inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend <br />that the same be approved. <br />Meeting of June 8th, 1953. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the report be accepted. <br />carried. <br />PETITION <br />TO: The Honorable Members of the Common Council <br />. of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />WALTER C. HAHN ) <br />Councilman Glass seconded the motion* Motion <br />The undersigned, respectfully petition the Common Council of the City of .South Bend, as follows: <br />e To re -zone the following described real estate..located in the City of South Bend, County of St. <br />Joseph'�and State of Indiana, to wit: <br />Lots 52, 53, 54 and 55 as shown on the recorded Plat of Baker and McHenry's <br />Addition to the City of South Bend, <br />from Class' "B" Residential District and Class "A" Height and Area District, to Class "D " Light Industrial <br />District and Class 'IF " Height and Area District. <br />2. In support thereof, your petitioners submit the following: <br />.A. That the lands adjacent to the above described premises are now zoned for commercial and <br />light industrial use; <br />z, <br />B. .Tla.t the general character of the neighborhood in which the lands above described are <br />situated is no longer suited for residential use; that commercial and light industrial use has <br />already begun in the area dnd that the parcel described and the lands immediately adjacent thereto <br />can best be used for light industrial use as in this petition prayed for. <br />The power to re -zone being rested in the Common Council, this petition is, for the reasons above noted, being <br />respectfully.submitted to you. <br />HANS A.
