ra <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 8TH, 1953 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3929 <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM Q —l1, SERVICES PERSONAL, <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT, TO Q -724, MOTOR EQUIPMENT, FIRE DEPARTMENT, <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $16 ,700.00; AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION OF <br />$3,200.00 FROM GENERAL STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND TO S -2519 <br />REPAIRS OF BUILDINGS ,AND,STRUCTURES, STREET DEPARTMENT, OF <br />THE BUDGET OF 1953 OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT, T-439 <br />TRAFFIC MATERIALS,,$1500.00 TO T -726, OTHER EQUIPMENT ;.FROM CITY <br />PLAN COMMISSION, ll SERVICES.PERSONAL, $980.00 TO CITY PLAN <br />COMMISSIOA,;65 SUBSCRIPTION AND DUES, $500.000 214 TELEPHONE AND <br />TELEGRAPH, $30.00, 216 TRAVEL EXPENSES, $100.009 AND 242 PHOTOGRAPH <br />AND PRINTING, $350.00; ALL OF THE BUDGET OF 1953 OF THE CIVIL CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />The ordinance was given ft st reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion <br />that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on June 22nd, 1953. Councilman <br />Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />.UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Mrs, Edmund Spychalski, 1631 W. Dunham St., appeared before the Council and stated that locomotives are still <br />smoking up their washings• <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the engine numbers and time of day be reported to the Traffic Engineer. <br />Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Mr. George Cesavies, 239 N. Edison and other residents of the Garden. Village addition north of Western Ave. at <br />Sheridan, appeared before the Council to inquire ghat has been done about the petition filed with the Board of <br />Public Works relative to the instillation of a traffic siggal at Western and Sheridan Avenues. Councilman. <br />Niezgodski made a motion the Traffic Engineer check the above matter and --give a report to the Council on June <br />22nd. Councilman. Korpal made an amendment to the motion that the traffic singal be considered an emergency <br />because of the new school in that vicinity. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilman: Niezgodski made a motion that the City Attorney prepare an ordinance limiting the times at which <br />householders ,can burn waste materials, leaves, and grass in their yards. Councilman Muszynski seconded the <br />motion. -Motfon carried.' <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman. Hahn made a motion to adjourn, which motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Pinter. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 9:10 P.M. <br />ATTEST: APPROVED: <br />CLERK PRESIDENT <br />
