Section III. Holidays <br />A. Each such employee shall have ten (10) holidays per calendar year. The following nine (9) <br />holidays are recognized by the Employer: <br />New Year's Day Veteran's Day <br />Good Friday Thanksgiving Day <br />Memorial Day Day after Thanksgiving <br />Fourth of July Christmas Day <br />Labor Day <br />The remaining one (1) holiday shall be elected by the individual employee, with the consent of the <br />City, from the following: <br />Christmas Eve <br />New Year's Eve <br />Easter Monday <br />Martin Luther King's Birthday <br />Columbus Day <br />Employee's Birthday <br />Election Day (Indiana Primary of General Election Day) <br />Any other Board of Works approved Holiday <br />B. Employees represented by Teamster Local Union No. 364 shall receive their regular hourly <br />rate ofpay including any premiums for each of the ten (10) holidays. An employee working <br />a five 8-hour day workweek shall receive 8 hours ofpay for each of the ten (10) holidays, <br />providing he or she has worked the regularly scheduled. day before and after the holiday <br />unless officially excused. An employee working a four 10-hour day workweek shall receive <br />ten (10) hours pay for each of the ten (10) holidays, providing he or she has worked the <br />regularly scheduled day before and after the holiday unless officially excused. Should the <br />employee use a sick day either the day before or the day after the holiday, he or she must <br />have a doctor's slip for that day. <br />C. If an employee is required to work any of the ten (10) holidays, he or she will receive time <br />and one-half (1 ''/z) of his or her regular hourly rate ofpay for such work in addition to the <br />holiday grant. <br />D. Holidays will be considered as time worked for the purpose of computing overtime. <br />E. Regular employees will be entitled to holiday pay if the holiday falls within the first thirty <br />(30) days of absence due to illness or non-occupational injury or within the first six (6) <br />months of absence due to occupational injury. <br />F. Probationary employees and temporary employees shall not be entitled to holiday pay. <br />_ _ _ . _ . <br />
