[ I REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 12TH, 1953 <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Pend: <br />Your Committee of the 'Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance prohibiting the passing of motor vehicles by <br />trucks and trailers on public streets in the City of South Bend, Indiana ". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council <br />as favorable* <br />We A. HAHN, Chairman <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the report be accepted* Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion* Motion <br />carried* <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON ELECTRICAL CODE <br />The Committee after hearing a number of corrections suggested by those interested in the Electrical Code and <br />which notations have been made on the ordinance, do not feel as. though they should recommend any amendment to the <br />Electrical Code until after a full public hearings, <br />(Siped) Cloyd Bestle <br />Chester Muszynski <br />tt Walter C. Erler Sr. <br />Committee <br />Councilman,Ni:ezgodski made a motion that the report from the Miscellaneous Committee be accepted. Councilman <br />Hahn seconded the motion* 'Motion carried. <br />abutnoilmia�n` Xiezgoa-skil.md6 - a-mot ion that the Electrical Code be referred to the Committee of the 'Whole for <br />public hearing on February 9th. Councilman Glass seconded the motion* Motion carried* <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />To the Common Council, <br />City of South Bend, Ind. <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of LaMar Austin for change of zoning of a 40 x 120 ft# part of lot No* 1025 in LaSalle Park 2nd Add* <br />from B residence district to Commercial district was'given public hearing before the City Plan Commission on <br />Jan* 8, 1953. <br />The City Plan Commission recommends that this change be made from B residence and A height and area districts to <br />C-1 commercial and D height and area districts* <br />This lot is at the N:W* corner of Washington and Illinois Streets* <br />Yours truly, <br />D. City Clerk <br />Referring to the matter referrdd to Board of Public Works,, under date of Deco 15th; the following excerpt of <br />minutes of-the Board's deferred regular meeting, Dec. 100 1952, sets forth the most recent action in this matter - <br />"The lighting situation at the Illinois Street and Chicago Street intersections with Lincoln Way <br />was discussed, and the delay of installation explained as having been due to difficult in securing <br />a type of lighting for these locations in uniformity with the established lighting at difficulty Way <br />West." <br />Action taken in the matter at the Board's regular meeting of November 24., is covered by the following excerpt'.; <br />- - <br />from the minutes <br />"Supt. Ira Hunsberger, being present., reported on a petition for the installation of street lighting <br />on Lincoln Way West from Bendix Drive to Chicago Street. Supt.
