'CLERK p <br />tttaltttat1S8tt8aatttatatatattttatttittataatttItatattattaittttaItiaaasaasaiaaaaaaaaattattttattatttttiatattatta <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 12TH, 1953 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the 'City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the <br />Council Chamber, Monday, January 12th, 1953, at 8 :07 PoMo , with all members present* President Erler presided. <br />REPORT -OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bendr <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have <br />inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend <br />that the same be approved. <br />Meeting of December 8th, 1952. <br />Councilman Niezgodski. made a motion that the report be accepted. <br />carried. <br />PETITION <br />TO:: Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />WALTER C. ERLER, SR. ) <br />STANLEY C. KORPAL ) Committee <br />Wo A. HAHN ) <br />Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion <br />We, the undersigned, owners of more than fifty (50) percent of the real estate hereinafter set outq, do hereby <br />respectfully request and petition the members of the Common Council to re -zone the said described real estate <br />from the present classification of "B" Residential, "B "Height and Area"District to the classification of "C" <br />Commercial and "B" Height and Area District; ` <br />Lots numbered 16, 17 and 18 in J. -G. Bartlett's First Addition to the Town, now <br />City of South Bend, Indiana; Lots numbered 37, 36, 35 and 39 in J. G. Bartlett's <br />Second Addition to the Town, now City of South Bend, Indiana; and that part of <br />Bank Out Lot No. 124 of the Second Plat of Out Lots to the Town, now City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, platted by the State Bank of Indiana, adjacent to Lot No. <br />39 as shown on the recorded plat of J. G. Bartlett's Second Addition to the <br />Town, now City of South Bend, which part of said Bank Out Lot No. 124 is also <br />described as beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot No. 39 in J. G. <br />Bartlett's Second Addition to the Town, now City of South Bend, Indiana; thence <br />North on the West line of Michigan Street, 50 feet, more or less, to the South <br />line of Park Lane in said city; thence West on the South line of Park Lane, <br />165 feet to the East line of a public alley; thence South on the East line of <br />said alley to the Northwest corner of said Lot No. 39 in said Bartlett's Second <br />Addition; thence east on the North line of said Lot No. 39 of said Bartlett's <br />Second Addition to the place of beginning. <br />Said tract is further described as commencing at the Northwest corner of the intersection of Bartlett Street and <br />Michigan Street in the City of South Bend, Indiana, thence running North along the West line of said Michigan <br />Street to the Southwest corner of Park Lane and Michigan Street,thence West along the South line of Park Lane, <br />a distance of 165 feet to the East line of a public alley; thence south along the East line of said public alley <br />to-the North line of Bartlett Street; thence East along said North line of Bartlett Street, a distance of 165 <br />feet to the place of beginning. <br />(7 Signers) <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Korpal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried* <br />
