REGULAR MEETING <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />APRIL 14TH. 1952 <br />To the Common Council <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of Louis Major, Jr., for change of zoning of Lot 67 and part of Lot 68 in Jefferson Heights Addition <br />from A Residence listriet to C -1 Commercial District was given public hearing before the City Plan Commission <br />at their regular meeting April 3, 1952. <br />This change is recommended as petitioned for. <br />CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />D. Moomaw, Secretary <br />• i <br />This property is on the south side of McKinley East of but not touching upon Ironwood Drive. <br />No change in the height and area district is asked for and the C -1 use district is limited commercial. <br />Attached hereto is remonstrance against this change; also an auxiliary petition signed by property owners wishing <br />to sustain the petitioner in his request. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the report of the City Plan Commission be accepted and placed on file. <br />Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1952 BUDGET <br />FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 AND FOR THE CEMETERY <br />DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $500 AND APPROPRIATING FROM <br />THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY TO THE 1952 BUDGET FOR SAID <br />DEPARTMENTS IN SAID AMOUNTS AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY <br />EMERGENCY. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman G.1assmade a motion that <br />the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on April 28th, Councilman Nestle <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING METER FEES AND FUNDS <br />TO THE-BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CIVIL CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES SET FORTH <br />THEREIN IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 236 OF THE ACTS OF THE <br />GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF INDIANA'OF 1945, AS AMENDED <br />BY CHAPTER 303 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 1951. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion that <br />this ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on April 28th. Councilman Korpal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br />(Property on the south side of McKinley East of but <br />not touching upon Ironwood Drive) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion that <br />the ordinance be referred to the Council. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Councilman Glass made a motion to table the ordinance. Councilman Hahn <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3865 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br />(Property at the Southwest corner of North Michigan <br />St. and Bartlett Street) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays <br />2 absent (Councilmen Pinter and Niezgodski). <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Councilmen <br />Pinter and Niezgodski). <br />
