REGULAR MEETING REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION APRIL 14TH. 1952 To the Common Council City of South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: Petition of Louis Major, Jr., for change of zoning of Lot 67 and part of Lot 68 in Jefferson Heights Addition from A Residence listriet to C -1 Commercial District was given public hearing before the City Plan Commission at their regular meeting April 3, 1952. This change is recommended as petitioned for. CITY PLAN COMMISSION D. Moomaw, Secretary • i This property is on the south side of McKinley East of but not touching upon Ironwood Drive. No change in the height and area district is asked for and the C -1 use district is limited commercial. Attached hereto is remonstrance against this change; also an auxiliary petition signed by property owners wishing to sustain the petitioner in his request. Councilman Korpal made a motion that the report of the City Plan Commission be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1952 BUDGET FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 AND FOR THE CEMETERY DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $500 AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY TO THE 1952 BUDGET FOR SAID DEPARTMENTS IN SAID AMOUNTS AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman G.1assmade a motion that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on April 28th, Councilman Nestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING METER FEES AND FUNDS TO THE-BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES SET FORTH THEREIN IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 236 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF INDIANA'OF 1945, AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 303 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 1951. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion that this ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on April 28th. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. (Property on the south side of McKinley East of but not touching upon Ironwood Drive) The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion that the ordinance be referred to the Council. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 3865 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. (Property at the Southwest corner of North Michigan St. and Bartlett Street) The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays 2 absent (Councilmen Pinter and Niezgodski). The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Councilmen Pinter and Niezgodski).
