MEET <br />14TH <br />Be it remembered that the Common :Council of the ';City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the <br />Council Chamber, Monday, April 14th, 1952, at 8:08 P.M.I. with all members present except Councilmen Pinter and <br />Niezgodski. President Erler presided. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have <br />inspected the minutes of the previous *.meeting of the Council and found them correct. HAHN } <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />The Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />City Hall Request to remove name from petition. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The Portage Avenue Green Houses, Incorporated, by its President, Irma Collmer, requests your honorable members <br />to remove the 'name of the Portage Avenue Greenhouses, Incorporated, from the petition filed in the Clerk's office <br />of the City of South Bend on March 19, 1952; that said petition was signed by said Irma Collmer as President of <br />the Portage -Avenue Greenhouses requesting that your Honorable members rezone the sixteen hundred block of Portage <br />Avenue from the classification of "B" residential to "C" Commercial. <br />PORTAGE AVENUE GREENHOUSES, INC. <br />By: Irma Collmer, President <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on.file and that the Clerk be <br />instructed to take the name of Irma Collmer off of said petition. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />We petition your honorable body for change in zoning on the following described real estate: <br />A lot or parcel of land Forty -three (43) feet taken off of <br />the South end of Lots Numbered Five Hindred Twenty -nine (529) <br />and Five Hundred Thirty (530) in the Third Plat of Summit <br />Place Addition to the City of South Bend. Being a strip of <br />land Forty =three (43) feet in width North and South, by <br />Seventy -eight (78) feet in length East and West. No building <br />shall be erected within five feet of the West line of Lot <br />Number Five Hundred Twenty -nine (529). <br />from "C" commercial and "D" height and area district to "A" residence and "A" height and area district. <br />Respectfully yours, <br />Joseph F. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL AND CITY PLAN CO'VMISSION <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />Gentlemen: <br />We, the undersigned owners of the following described real estate in the City of South Bend, Indiana, to -wit: <br />"A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section,5, Township 37 North, <br />Range 3 East, described as follows: beginning at a point on the <br />Southerly line of South Bend Avenue, which point is 513.25 feet <br />Northeasterly from the Northeast corner of Talbot's Plat to the <br />City of South Bend, as recorded in Plat Book 7, page 26, in the <br />Recorder's Office of St. Joseph County, Indiana; running thence <br />Northeasterly along the Southerly line of South Bend Avenue 312.25 <br />feet to the center of Jacobs Street; thence Southeasterly along <br />the center line of Jacobs Street projected to a port that is 200 <br />feet South and parallel of the South line of said South Bend Avenue <br />on a line drawn at right angles to the South line of said South Bend <br />Avenue; thence Southwesterly to a point that is 200 feet South of <br />the place of beginning, on a line drawn at right angles to the <br />South line of said South Bend Avenue, thence North 200 feet to the <br />place of beginning." <br />do hereby respectfully request your honorable bodies to change the zoning classification of said real estate <br />from "B" Residential District to "C" Commercial, and from "A" Height and Area District to "D" Height and Area <br />District. <br />Edmund J.
