REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 14TH, 1952 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the <br />Council Chamber, Monday, January 14th, 1952, at 8:02 P.M., with all members present. President Erler presided. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have <br />inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. KORPAL <br />There being no objections, the report of the minutes was accepted and placed on file. <br />REPORT OF BUILDING DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR OF 1951. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the report of the Building Department for the year of 1951 be accepted. <br />Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />The Common Council <br />City, of South Bend <br />South ,Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />We, the undersigned, owners of the described real estate set opposite our names, do hereby respectfully request <br />the members of the Common Council to rezone the said described real estate from its present Classification <br />"Residential B" to the Classification "Commercial. C ", "D" Height and Area District. <br />Lots Numbered Five (5), Six (6), Seven (7), Eight (8), Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleven (11), <br />Twelve (12), Thirteen (13), in Morris Park Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />also Lots Numbered One Hundred Seventeen (1111), One Hundred Eighteen (118), One Hundred <br />Nineteen (119), One Hundred Eighty -seven (187), One Hundred Eighty -eight (188), One <br />Hundred Eighty -nine (189) in the Northwest Addition, Second Plat, to the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, also the lot located on the Northeast Corner of Portage Avenue and Kinyon <br />Street owned by the Portage Greenhouses, Inc., described as follows, to -wits <br />A lot or parcel of land bounded by a line running as follows, VIZ: Beginning on the North <br />line of the South Half (2) of the Southwest Quarter (4) of Section Number Thirty -five (35), <br />Township Number Thirty -eight (38) North, Range Number Two (2) East, at a point One Hundred <br />and Fifty -two (152) .feet East of the Easterly line of Portage Avenue in the City of South <br />Bend; thence running East on said North line of said half Quarter (4) of Section 361 feet, <br />mores or less, to the Northwest corner of a lot conveyed to Willis W. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of William M. Smith for change of zoning of Lot No. 1085 LaSalle Park Addition from residence district <br />to commercial district was given public hearing by the City Plan Commission at their regular meeting January 3, <br />1952. <br />With the approval of the petitioner, the petition has been amended for a change from B residence and A height and <br />area districts to C commercial and D height and area districts and in this form the change is recommended by the <br />City Plan Commission. <br />Yours truly, <br />D.
