SPECIAL MEETING NOVEMBER 13TH, 1951 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3850 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3 702 COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br />(Lots on the South side of. Sunnymede Ave..at <br />30th Street) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - <br />0 nays. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1951 SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY BUDGET AND APPROPRIATING FROM <br />'THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED FIFTEEN <br />($215.00) DOLLARS, TO CERTAIN OTHER BUDGETARY ITEM OF THE <br />1951 BUDGET OF SAID CITY, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY <br />EMERGENCY. <br />758 <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion that <br />the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on November 26th, 1951. Councilman <br />Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE REDUCING A CERTAIN ITEM IN THE 1951 SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY BUDGET AND APPRROPRIATING FROM <br />THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) <br />DOLLARS, FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY <br />'EMERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion that <br />the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on November 13th, 1951. Councilman <br />Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried.. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A move by Councilman Tellson to insure that a portion of the $300,000.00 remaining unspent of a $500,000.00 <br />bond issue for the improvement of arterial streets be spent by the administration of Mayor -Eleot John A. Scott on <br />Indiana Avenue both east and west will be embodied in a written motion to be prepared ,by the City .Attorney <br />Frederick K. Baer and presented to the present Council at the next meeting. Councilman Erler seconded the <br />motion. Motion -carried. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the Clerk notify Mr. John M. Bowman, Superintendent of Power Plant, Studebaker <br />Corporation, to appear at the next regular meeting of the Council on-November 26th, 1951, to give a report on <br />what is being done about the escaping steam on Sample St. Councilman Muszynski` seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the Board of Public Works notify officials of the New York Central and <br />Grand Trunk railroads to appear at their next meeting to explain blocking of their crossings. Councilman Glass <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Korpal withdraws his motion. Councilman Glass withdrew his <br />second. <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Clerk notify officials, of the-New- York Central and Grand Trunk <br />railroads to appear at the next meeting of the Council on November 26th to explain crossing blocking by their <br />trains. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman MusWnski made a motion to adjourn, which motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Korpal.
