750 <br />OCTOBER 8TH. 1 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council <br />Chamber, Monday, October 8th, 1951, at 8:12 P.M., with all members present. President Niezgodski presided. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected <br />the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend that the same <br />fine approved. <br />Meeting of September 24th, 1951. <br />Councilman Kemper made a motion that the report be accepted. <br />COMAUNICATION <br />Mr. Clem Niezgodski, President . <br />Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />City Hall <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Air. Motion carried.) <br />In view of the Resolution before your Honorable Body relative to action to be taken in conjunction with the Grand <br />Trunk Railroad for the extension of Western Avenue to Lincoln Way East, may I suggest that the following persons <br />be added to the Councilmanic Committee. I am sure that these representative business and professional men who <br />have already done a great deal toward the immediate contemplated improvement of Western Avenue, will give you and <br />the members of the Common Council every cooperation: <br />C. Schock <br />Mayor <br />Councilman Erler made a motion that the Citizens' Committee announced by the Mayor be accepted and placed on file. <br />Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />TO: THE SOUTH BEND CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY HALL <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />Gentlemen: <br />October 1, 1951 <br />The undersigned owners, husband and wife, of the property hereinafter described respectfully petition your Honorable <br />Council to rezone a presently zoned B residence district and A height and area district to C commercial district <br />said property being described as:- <br />A lot or parcel of land in the City of South Bend, bounded by a line <br />described as beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter <br />(NET) of Section four (4), Township Thirty -seven (37) North, Range Two <br />(2) East; thence North Eighty -nine and 63100 (89.63) feet to the <br />Southerly line of Lincolnway West in said city; thence Southeasterly <br />along said Southerly line Five Hundred Twenty -two and 93100 (522.93) <br />feet to the point of beginning of this description: thence South Four <br />Hundred Seventy -two and 210 (472.2) feet; thence East One Hundred <br />Fifty -five and 210 (155.2) feet; thence North Four Hundred eight and <br />410 (408.4) feet to the Southerly line of said Lincolnway West, thence <br />North- Westerly One Hundred Sixty -seven and 110 (167.1) feet to the <br />point of beginning; containing One and 57100 (1.57) acres and being <br />known as Lot Numbered Three (3) in Rockstroh's Survey in Section Four <br />(4), Township Thirty -seven (37) North, Range two (2) East and Section <br />Thirty -three (33), Township Thirty -eight (38) North, Range Two (2) <br />East, St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />Your petitions/respectfully make showing that it is their intention to use said property for the purpose of operating <br />a machine shop, employing not more than five employees. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Harry R.
