<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council
<br />Chambers, on Friday, August 3rd, 1951, at 7:09 P.M. Central Standard Time, with all members present except
<br />Councilman Korpal.
<br />STATE OF INDIANA
<br />SS CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND
<br />To the President, and members of the Common Council
<br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Gentlemen:
<br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City of
<br />South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to
<br />meet in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall at the hour of 7:00 P.M. Central Standard Time (8:00 P.M. C.'D.T.),
<br />on Friday, August 3rd, 1951, for the purpose of considering the following ordinances, to writ:
<br />"AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE
<br />EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET - OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1952, AND ENDING
<br />DECEMBER 31, 1952, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH
<br />MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE
<br />GENERAL FUNDS OF SAID CITY, TO -WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK DEPARTMENTS,
<br />FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION:
<br />PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND
<br />OBLIGATIONS: FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES:
<br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH:
<br />PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT."
<br />ALSO
<br />"AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1952 FOR THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA."
<br />The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice
<br />on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Erler made a motion that
<br />the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on August 27th, 1951, at 8:00 P.M.
<br />Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motiori carried.
