ORDINANCE <br />s <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY AND <br />THE NEW JERSEY, INDIANA AND ILLINOIS RAILROAD COMPANY TO PROVIDE <br />AND MAINTAIN AUTOMATIC FLASH LIGHT SIGNALS AND SHORT -ARM GATES AT <br />THE GRADE CROSSING OF THE TRACKS OF SAID RAILROAD COMPANIES 'WHERE <br />THE SAME INTERSECT WITH WESTERN AVENUE FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN <br />LIFE, PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion <br />that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole on July 23rd. Councilman Muszynski seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY TO <br />PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN AUTOMATIC FLASH LIGHT SIGNALS AT THE GRADE <br />CROSSING OF THE TRACKS OF SAID RAILROAD WHERE THE SAME INTERSECT <br />WITH WASHINGTON STREET FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN LIFE, PROVIDING <br />FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES <br />IN CONFLICT HEREOF. <br />732 <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion that <br />that ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole on July 23rd. Councilman Bestle made a motion <br />that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole on July 23rd. Councilman Korpal seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY, THE <br />PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD COMPANY AND THE NEW JERSEY, INDIANA AND ILLINOIS <br />RAILROAD COMPANY TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN AUTOMATIC FLASH LIGHT SIGNALS <br />AND SHORT -ARM GATES AT THE GRADE CROSSINGS AT THE TRACKS OF SAID RAIL- <br />ROADS WHERE THE SAME INTERSECT'WITH KEMBLE AVENUE AND WITH PRAIRIE <br />AVENUE FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN LIFE, PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR <br />THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORIDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. <br />The ordinance was 'given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion <br />that the ordinance bee referred to the Committee of the Whole on July 23rd. Councilman Bestle seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the Clerk notify Mr. John M. Bowman, Superintendent of Power Plant of the <br />Studebaker Corporation, to appear at next meeting of the Council to give a report on what has been done about <br />the escaping steam from the power house on Sample St. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />NM BUSINESS <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion to have Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, appear at the next meeting of the <br />Council relative to the city's legal right to require lower speed for trucks in the 1900 and 2000 block of <br />West Indiana Avenue. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business, Councilman Korpal made a motion to adjourn, which motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Muszynski.
