REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 26TH, 1951 <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CIVIL <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THE SUM OF SIX HUNDRED ($600.00) <br />DOLLARS, TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH CLINIC, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, AND <br />DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion <br />that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on March 12th. Councilman <br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Clerk notify the Board of Public Works to contact the New York Central <br />system regarding the condition of crossings at Sample and Ford Streets, and that switch engines are polluting the <br />air in the West Ford Street crossing area. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Mr. John Bowman, Superintendent of the Studebaker Power Plant, appeared before the Council relative to fog from <br />the plant's steam table and spray pond and stated that the company would investigate the possibility of moving <br />at least part of the equipment. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Residents'in the vicinity of the Studebaker Corporation appeared before the Council relative to the parking, <br />situation in front of their homes. Asst. Police Chief Richard J. Gillen informed them that two officers were <br />assigned -An the area and a record was kept of all tickets issued by these officers. <br />Mr. Charles Anderson,-- 1031.Talbot, Avenue, appeared before the Council relative to bus service on the Corby <br />Street bus line. Mr. Ande`.,,on�s tated that busses were not running on schedule and proper signs were not placed <br />on them. Councilman Tellsoil made a motion that the Clerk notify the Board of Public Works to contact officials <br />of the bus company relative to service rendered on the Corby Street line. Councilman Muszynski seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business 15ef ore the Council, Councilman Tellson made a motion to adjourn, which motion <br />was seconded.by Councilman Korpal.
