ING DECEMBER 11TH, 1950 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chamber, Monday, December 11th, 1950, at 8:12 P.M. with all members present. President Erler presided. REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend that the same be approved. Meeting of: November 27th, 1950. W. C. ERLER, SR. ) CLEM NIEZGODSKI ) Committee STANLEY C. KORPAL ) Councilman Tellson made a motion that the report be accepted as read. Councilman Kemper seconded the motion. Motion carried. PETITION STATE OF INDIANA ) SS: COUNTY OF ST. JOSEPH ) To the City Plan Commission of the City of South Bend: The undersigned Louis Stoll and Florence Stoll, husband and wife, hereby petition for the change of zoning classification of the following described real estate situated in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, to -wit: Lots Numbered One (1) and Two (2) in Mayr's Michigan Avenue Addition to the City .of South Bend, from "B" use District and "A" Height and Area District, to "C" Commercial use District and "D" Height and Area District, and in support of said petition respectfully show to your Honorable Body that they are the owners in fee simple of said above described real estate, that said lots are situated in the middle of the block on the north side of the 2100 block of Lincoln Way West between North Johnson Street on the east, and North O'Brien Street on the west; that said lots are improved with a house and garage at this time; that the real estate on Lincoln Way West in the block immediately east of said property is zoned commercial; that many of the lots in the vicinity of the subject real estate are now used for commercial purposes. WHEREFORE, petitioners pray that the City Plan Commission take appropriate action to effect said zoning changes and file herein a proposed form of ordinance for submission to the Common Council. PETITION Common Council''of the City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The South Bend Brewing Company respectfully asks that a change be made in the Zoning Ordinance No. 3702, by rezoning the following property, that at present is zoned "B" residence and "A" height and area district, to -wit: Lots 1, 2 and 3,in Rupel's Addition to the City of South Bend, to "C" commercial and "E" height and area district, and respectfully shows that said property is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of College Street and Lincolnway West, in the City of South Bend, is vacant at the present time and unfit for a residence district, due to the fact that it is across the street from a brewery building and immediately across the alley north of the bottling house; that the property south of it and west of it is now zoned "C" commercial, and the property across the street to the north is "C" commercial. REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION To the Common Council City.of South Bend Gentlemen: December 11, 1950 The accompanying ordinance is for making certain changes in the Zoning Ordinance of South Bend. The City Plan Commission has had public hearing on this ordinance and its passage is recommended. D. Moomaw, Secy. Councilman Kemper made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. (Continued)
