November 21, 1949
Dear Sirs
I am instructed by the International H.C-.B.L.U. of A. Local #645, of South. Bend, Ind. advising you that we are
100% in favor of the Housing project.as represented for the City of South Bend. The work on these houses will
amount to millions of dollars and as you and every one else residing in the City of South Bend are well aware
of the fact that South Bend needs that work. We are sorely in need of low cost rental homes in this city,
and the administration should not be swayed by a few disgruntled residents of a certain vicinity, who are for
their own selfish reasons, objecting very strenuously to said project.
We represent an organization comprising approximately 1600 members and to a man they are in favor of this
housing project. We are also members of the St. Joe Co. Building Trades Council, who-at their last meeting went
on record favoring the above mentioned project.
