Erler, Sr. <br />and by leaving a certified copy thereof at the last and usual place of residence of such members as -I was-unable <br />to find, as followss <br />Mrs. Clem Niezgodski <br />Nancy Korpal <br />Alice Muszynski <br />Al Kemper by Jankowski +95 (Put in mail box) <br />Jankowski,-#95 <br />Norman Roar <br />ber of the outh Bend Police Department <br />The Special Call was read by the Clerk and ordered placed on file. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF iHS WHOEB <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bends August 29, 1949 <br />Your - Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance appropriating moneys for the purpose of defraying <br />the expenses of all budget - operated departments of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year <br />beginning January 1, 1950, and ending December 31, 1950, including departments, funds and commission+ for which <br />money is appropriated, in whole or in part, from funds other than the General funds of said city, to witl <br />Street,- Traffic and Park Departments, Firemen's Pension and Policemen's Pension Funds, and the City Plains <br />Commission: Providing that such appropriations shall include all outstanding claims and obligations: fixing <br />the salaries of all city officials and employees; repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict <br />herewith: providing a•timmie when the same shall-take effect ". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance should go to <br />the Council favorable as amended. <br />STANLEY C. KORPAL, Chairman <br />Councilman Kemper made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE .WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: August 29, 1949 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to.whom was referred "An Ordinance fixing the Tax Levy for the year 1950 for the <br />Municipal.City of South Bend, Indiana". <br />Respectfully report that they have eaamtned the matter and that in their opinion the Street and Traffic Tax <br />Levy should be amended to read as 90466, and the total for the Civil City to read as 1.4936 instead of 1.538, <br />and that the ordinance be reported to the Council favorable as amended. _ <br />STANLEY C. KORPAL, Chairman <br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3715 (AMENDED) <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE <br />EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET-OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 10 1950, AND ENDING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1950, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND COMMISSION FOR WHICH <br />MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE <br />GENERAL FUNDS OF SAID CITY, TO -WITH: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PART DEPARTMENTS, <br />FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION: <br />PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND <br />OBLIGATIONSs FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES, <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: <br />PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 6 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Kemper and <br />Mus W nski) . <br />ORDINANCE N0. 3716 (AMENDED) <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING.THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1950,FOR THE MUNICIPAL <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ,INDIANA. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of .6 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Kemper and <br />Muszyneki). <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn the Special <br />Meeting, which was seconded by Councilman Korpal.
