<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bends August 29, 1949
<br />Your - Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance appropriating moneys for the purpose of defraying
<br />the expenses of all budget - operated departments of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year
<br />beginning January 1, 1950, and ending December 31, 1950, including departments, funds and commission+ for which
<br />money is appropriated, in whole or in part, from funds other than the General funds of said city, to witl
<br />Street,- Traffic and Park Departments, Firemen's Pension and Policemen's Pension Funds, and the City Plains
<br />Commission: Providing that such appropriations shall include all outstanding claims and obligations: fixing
<br />the salaries of all city officials and employees; repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
<br />herewith: providing a•timmie when the same shall-take effect ".
<br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance should go to
<br />the Council favorable as amended.

<br />Councilman Kemper made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion

<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: August 29, 1949
<br />Your Committee of the Whole to.whom was referred "An Ordinance fixing the Tax Levy for the year 1950 for the
<br />Municipal.City of South Bend, Indiana".
<br />Respectfully report that they have eaamtned the matter and that in their opinion the Street and Traffic Tax
<br />Levy should be amended to read as 90466, and the total for the Civil City to read as 1.4936 instead of 1.538,
<br />and that the ordinance be reported to the Council favorable as amended. _

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE

<br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 6 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Kemper and

<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING.THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1950,FOR THE MUNICIPAL
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ,INDIANA.
<br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of .6 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Kemper and
<br />Muszyneki).
<br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn the Special
<br />Meeting, which was seconded by Councilman Korpal. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 9:15 P.M., Central
<br />Standard Time.
