Central Standard Time with all members present. President <br />Erler presided at the meeting. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />A oommaunication was received from Lt. Andrew F, Orban,, who is attending the National Aoademr of the Federal <br />Bureau of Investigation,, Washington, D. C. Councilman Korpal made a motion that the oommunication be accepted <br />and placed on file. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />A comnatnioation was received from the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the National 44rder of the Combat <br />Wounded., Chicago., Illinois* Councilman Korpal made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on <br />file. Councilman, Muezynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />July 250 1949 <br />Your Committee of the -Whole to whom was referred "An Ordirtanoe appropriating fromthe City of South Bend Park <br />Maintenanee.Fohd the sum of $125900 to 9locount Nod, 581, Spraying Material and Fertilizer, Park Department= <br />also transferring the sum of $10,675.00 from Account No. 43, Drives and Walks, -Park Department, to the <br />following-,accounts in the amount indicated: Account No. 11, Labor, Services Temporary, $1,500.00; Account No. <br />261, Other Contractual Services, $400.00; Account No. 332, Oil, $100.00; Account No. 442, Park Maintenance, <br />$400.00; Account No. 711, Buildings and Fixed Equipment, $7,575100; and Account No. 726, Other Equipment, <br />$70000N. all in Park Department, and declaring -an extraordinary emergency"* <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance should 'go to <br />the Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY co KORPAL, Chairman <br />Councilman Kemper made a motion that the report be accepted* Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF TEE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the 'City of South Bends <br />July 25, 1949 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance approving a contract between the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, and Indiana & Minhigan Electric Company". <br />Respectfully reVort that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance should go to the <br />touncilT as favorable. <br />STANLEY C.
