M *Dfl <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL STREET AND TRAFFIC <br />FOND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND <br />THREE HUNDRED ($1,300.00) DOLLARS TO THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNT OF THE <br />1949 BUDGET: STREET DEPARTMENT, 5 ,-51, INSURANCE, AND DECLARING <br />AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCYi <br />MAY 9TH9 1949 <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a <br />motion that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on May 23rd, 1949, <br />at 8:00 P.M* Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />MOTIONS <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the Clerk be directed to instruct the Board of Public'Abrks to notify <br />the operator at the dumping area in the 1300 block of South Bend Avenue that combustible materials be kept <br />separated in the dumping area and that they be burned in an isolated area to prevent constant dump fires <br />throughout the area. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the petition from residents in the 1100 block West Grace Street from <br />600 block South Arnold to Oliver Corporation in regard to prohibiting heavy truck traffic be referred to <br />the Streets, Alleys and Bridges Committee for investigation. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />There being no further business, Council adjourned at 9:15 P.M. upon motion of Councilman Korpal, seconded <br />by Councilman Glass.
